Twittorati: One-stop shop for Twitter updates from top bloggers
Here's how it works. Technorati already assigns "authority" to top blogs, based on the number of links to those sites from other web sites and other indicators of overall influence. Twittorati accumulates the Twitter feeds from writers for the top 100 blogs in Technorati's index.
The cool thing is that Twittorati doesn't just provide the official site feeds, but also feeds for individual writers. For instance, Download Squad is listed at #35. If you click on the Download Squad link in Twittorati, you'll find our official feed as well as my feed and Grant Roberton's.
But Twittorati ain't exactly comprehensive. As of this morning, it was missing the feeds for Download Squad bloggers Lee Mathews, Jay Hathaway, Jason Clarke, Chris Clark, Nik Fletcher, Victor Agreda Jr., and Christina Warren, even though Christina has over 8,000 followers and in fact coined the term Twitterati shortly after signing up for Twitter (a Google Search for the term the day before she started using it showed zero results).
Twittorati is certainly a nifty idea for anyone looking to make a more personal connection with their favorite bloggers, or just looking to get a bit more of the latest news and opinion updates. But the site still needs a little work.
