Search Cloudlet for Firefox brings tags to Twitter search

Search Cloudlet Twitter
Search Cloudlet is a plugin for Firefox that adds relevant tag clouds to searches you conduct using Yahoo! or Google. We first looked at the program a few months ago and were impressed with the way it helps refine your searches.

Now there's a new version of Search Cloudlet that works with Twitter search as well. When you conduct a search using Twitter, a tag cloud will pop up with relevant terms. For example, if you search for "Jim Cramer," you'll find a lot of results for "Jon" and "Stewart."

You can also filter your results by clicking ont he Authors, @To, or #Tags buttons. Or if you'd rather not see the tag cloud at all, just hit the Off button.

Search Cloudlet helps find what you're looking for - with tags

Search Cloudlet
Seach Cloudlet is a plugin for Firefox that adds a tag cloud to Google and Yahoo! search results. While this might not sound incredibly useful, it is. Here's how it works: You enter a search term and Search Cloudlet brings up a list of related tags. Click that tag to refine your search by addind that term. For example, if you're looking for the new Battlestar Galactica webisodes, you can start by typing just one word, like "battlestar" and keep clicking links until you find what you're looking for. It's great for people who aren't always sure what keywords will be the most useful.

You can also click the Sites tab to show a list of web sites featuring content matching your query. So if you want to limit your search to, say, Wikipedia articles, just click on the Wikipedia link. The Net tab lets you limit your search by domain type, such as .com, .org. or .net. I'm not really sure how useful this feature is. And if you want the tag cloud to go away all you have to do is click the Off button.

Twitscoop: Real-time tag cloud, search engine for Twitter

Want to know what people are talking about on Twitter without actually bothering to go to Twitter? Check out a Twitter-focused search engine. Summize and Twitscoop can both help you answer questions like "does the new Will Smith movie stink?" or "is Nancy Pelosi really trying to ban Twitter from Congress?" But this week Twitscoop rolled out a nifty new feature that makes it even easier to see what people are talking about without typing anything at all in the search box: a tag cloud that's updated in real-time.

The video above should give you an idea of what the tag cloud looks like, but the video capture software slowed our computer down a bit, so imagine the whole thing sped up a bit. As more and more Twitter users enter keywords in their messages, the tag cloud is updated.

Twitscoop's tag cloud should make for interesting reading during a major news event like a presidential debate. But even on slower news days, Twitscoop provides an overview of the conversations taking place among Twitter users. Sure, they're probably not representative of the public at large, but they're certainly representative of something... early adopters maybe?

Graveyard Shift - zombie-busting Time Waster

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet. They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...
