Get your clothes on with Trendmill

trenmill fashion social networkSocial networks are obviously where it's at, and the more niche and targeted they can get, all the better for users. Its now time for clothes lovers to unite with this latest network.

Trendmill is the newest member to hit the fashion social network scene. Users can upload images of clothes they wish to own, as well as clothes they do own. Trendmillers can then vote and rate on other user's clothes giving them the thumbs up or down while they search for the next in thing. Brands are also represented here with their lines with users rating and ranking them, a good marketing tool to gauge what customers are fond of. Trendmill also features some fashion editorial content and links out to fashion in the news.

Happy 10th Birthday, CSS!

css celebrates 10th birthdayCascading Style Sheets celebrate their 10th anniversary this week, making websites more attractive, flexible, and making for easier cross-media publishing. Good old CSS Level 1 was officially published on December 17th 1996, and even though many people chose to shun it back in the day, the majority of web designers rely on it today to make highly functional, standards-compliant web properties. In order to celebrate the occasion, the W3C is inviting developers to submit their favorite CSS designs that will be integrated into the CSS 10 Gallery. Sites that are currently on the list include CSS Zen Garden, A List Apart, and the CSS Validator. Here's to another 10 years, CSS! Now if only we can get IE straightened out and displaying you correctly.

StyleDash: It's not a download, but it's hot

It's a false assumption to say that a geek can't be stylish. In fact, style can be the geek's best friend. Plastic framed eye-glasses just dripping with class and the right taste in shirt and tie can mean the difference between office computer-geek and office hottie. Trust me, the social capital of a geek with some style sense can take you far.

In that vein, we're happy to welcome StyleDash to the Weblogs, Inc network. Whether a style hound, or style challenged, the bloggers of StyleDash have what you need.

They're even kicking things off by giving away a designer handbag-a-day. Yep, one handbag a day for 30 days, and all you have to do is leave a comment with a valid email address.

A few tid-bits to get you started; Stripes are rad, friends don't let friends grow mullets and guys need four basic things to build style upon.

Forumwarz - a potentially offensive time waster

I pwn UAfter spending the better part of an hour on Forumwarz I still can't decide if it's just sick or if it's kind of fun. It's a bit like a car wreck on the highway. I know I shouldn't be looking but I can't quite turn away.

It's sick, it's twisted, it's the internet on it's worst level and darn it, it's kind of fun. At least for a little while.

Forumwarz is a parody role-playing game that takes place on the internet - or at least the Forumwarz version of it. Your goal is to complete missions that are given to you through a mock up of GoogleTalk called Sentrillion.

Your first "friend" is ShallowEsophagus who begins giving you missions to pwn various forums by being a troll. Depending on the character type you are assigned at start up, you have tools like drooling on the keyboard or bashing your head on the keyboard that you can use to destroy forum threads and eventually, pwn a forum.

Future missions involve buying illegal software from the Russians, pwning more difficult forums and other internet oddness.

Completing missions gives you cash, called Flezz in game, and items that you can pawn or use in other missions. The game is NOT for those easily offended. It's crass, coarse and there are frequent f-bombs in the fake chat sessions.

This is also a game for a more mature audience as it requires you to shop at the Drugs R Fun store to get various concoctions to improve your playing, engage in certain cyber activities to get more Flezz and just generally use a more adult perspective.

If you can get past that, here are the more enjoyable and time-wasting aspects.
