Astraware Solitaire features 12 different single player card games in the one download, with the ability to customise each game to play 'your way'. A wide choice of card backs is included, together with an optional 'clear' card face. The application also features unlockable rewards.

Astraware Sudoku includes some great features including smart hints, pencil marks, hold-and-highlight to help beginners, a downloadable 'Puzzle of the Day' from the dedicated companion website (which also includes tips on solving techniques) and a puzzle solver to help you complete those troublesome puzzles in the newspaper!

Available for immediate download from the Android Market, both games are priced at $4.99 each and feature design and controls optimised for Android while still retaining an 'Astraware feel' that will be familiar to anyone who has used Astraware products before.

Federal judge busted for playing solitaire during trial

SolitairePlaying Solitaire while reading Download Squad seems like an acceptable form of multitasking. As does playing Solitaire while, say, doing phone support. But playing Solitaire while presiding over the federal trial of John Gotti? That might be pushing it. But it's what Manhattan Federal Court Judge Shira Scheindlin has been accused of by radio host Curtis Silwa, who was nearly killed in a 1992 shooting that Gotti is accused of planning, and who noticed Judge Scheindlin's gaming habbits while on the witness stand. Silwa says he noticed the judge playing during the last two trials, but didn't speak up "until Scheindlin dumped cold water on the government's third try" to convict Gotti. Silwa wants Scheindlin to recuse herself from the case, but at this point it seems unlikely.

Play pinball while Windows installs

Play games
while Windows installsToo lazy to make an unattended XP install disc but don't want to stare at nothing but progress bars while it installs? Turns out it's easy to run Pinball, Minesweeper, or Solitaire while the Windows XP setup grinds along. User Boofis on the Whirlpool forums explains: "You just have to wait until the right moment the pinball files are copied. Sometime after where it asks you for the product key and a question or two after that, where it says 'copying files'." Then you can press Shift F10 to get the command prompt, navigate to the appropriate folder, and run your game. Head over to the forum thread for the full instructions.

The World's Hardest Game 2.0 - Time Waster

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do. Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
