Snake for old school gaming - Time Waster

Snake
Snake is a quickly played, easily addictive game. It's just like the Snake games of old where you have to control your snake around a box, picking up things along the way. You can't touch the sides or yourself or the game starts over. The good part? Much better graphics.

Obviously the longer the snake becomes, the more difficult it is to maneuver. And those darn mice always pop up in the most tricky places.

But, if you're like me and played Snake when you were a bit younger, your fingers may remember what to do quite quickly. After running into walls about four times I was able to play a much longer game.

It's a nice little flash game that is good for burning off a few minutes at a time without sucking you in for an hour.

3D Worm - Today's Time-Waster

Remember back in the day when the coolest feature on a cell phone was Snake? Today's time waster is that fantastic cell phone hit from ten years ago with a twist, this version is in 3-D. You play 3D Snake just like cell phone snake. The goal is to eat the apple and not run into a wall or yourself, the more you eat the longer you get and the harder the game becomes. If you thought it was addictive on your old Nokia wait till you see it now.

Window-Snake - Today's Time Waster

Window-SnakeI just had to feature Window-Snake as today's Time Waster for the sheer novelty of it. As you might guess, Window-Snake is a version of the classic game of Snake. No, there are no super-fancy graphics, no there are no advanced new features. The only thing that sets this one apart from the rest is that in Window-Snake each of the snake's segments, and the diamonds you're supposed to collect, are represented by individual browser windows. The game is not without its bugs, and is a little sluggish on my machine, and yeah, you'll definitely have to turn off your pop-up blocker to play it, but it's good, clean, novel fun. Oh, by the way, the site has music that starts playing automatically, but it can be muted.

Graveyard Shift - zombie-busting Time Waster

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet. They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...
