Snailmailr: send physical mail from the web

Email is a convenient way to communicate, but some correspondence requires the extra effort of a printed letter. With Snailmailr, though, printed letters don't actually take a whole lot of effort. Just enter an address, type up to four pages, and pay $1, and your letter will be printed and mailed for you. Does it still count as more personal than email when you don't have to leave your computer to do it?

Snailmailr costs a little bit more than a stamp, but saves you the time of picking up stamps or printing them yourself. Including the cost of envelope and paper, $1 is a pretty reasonable price to pay. There's a little bit of an extra cost, though, if you don't want to be tacky: you can remove the Snailmailr logo from your envelope for an extra 15 cents. Everything else about Snailmailr looks good: they allow color images in letters, and they address environmental concerns by using recycled paper and buying carbon offsets.

Send paper mail online with EasyPost

send paper mail online with easypostStill have some friends who aren't hooked up with email yet? Maybe your Grandparents or Parents are a little behind the times? Or maybe you just want to send some paper to someone?

EasyPost has opened the doors and made it possible for anyone to send paper letters to any mailbox in Canada via a simple online form. The letters that are submitted through the online form gets printed out via high quality laser printers and premium white paper, packaged up and sent out at the end of each day in regular mail through the Canada Post system. TriQQr, twitter submitter tool for windows

triqqr for windows Twitter, oh twitter you are everywhere, and now you come to my desktop, and the desktops of all other Window's users.

TriQQr is a little tool for windows users that makes it simple for Twitter users to enter posts by using a desktop application that can be constantly left open. The tool is currently only available for pre-Windows Vista users.

The TriQQr blog is unfortunately (for those who don't speak it) written entirely in German, so it is a little hard to figure out what is being said about the application, and there isn't much on the website. If there is anyone out there with a German background that cares to translate, please drop us a line.

Watch Blog Comments with Commentful

monitor blog comments with commentfulCommentful is a useful tool for watching blog post comments, and getting instant notifications when comments are posted, similiar to co.mments and CoComment.

Through Commentful, you can set up specific URLs to monitor for comments. When a post URL is set up, and there have been comments added to that specific post, Commentful will send out a blinking beacon, either in the web application, or through a Firefox/Flock extension on your browser bar.

Commentful checks URL comments every 10 minutes for updates, and notifies you if needed for a period of 30 days, after which time the URL expires in the system. Fifty items can be tracked at once through the service, with support for Movable Type, Blogger, Wordpress, and other popular blog services.

UrlParams - Today's Browser Tip

UrlParamsThis Firefox extension is fantastic for all web developers and anyone who's just curious about what's being sent between Firefox and a web server: UrlParams is a sidebar that shows all of the GET and POST parameters Firefox sent to the server with the last request. You might say that you can see the same thing with LiveHTTPHeaders, and you'd be right, but UrlParams does it in a much more readable way, and get this: UrlParams lets you change, add, or remove parameters on the spot and re-submit the request. Excellent for debugging or snooping, this is an extension whose time has come.

Graveyard Shift - zombie-busting Time Waster

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet. They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...
