AIM Phoneline APIs and developer contest
AOL is planning to release APIs for developers to mash-up the new (since May) AIM Phoneline application. AOL is also holding a developer contest to see who will develop the best application using AIM Phoneline. Phoneline was launched in May is supposed to compete with the likes of Skype, Gizmo, Vonage, and anyone else who dares. Contest entries will be accepted from Sept. 11 through Nov. 30th, the winner to receive $3500 and be announced in January. Second prize gets $1000. No matter if you win the contest or not, the APIs will be available sometime in the next few months for all developers to build, mash-up and integrate into applications. Rinnnnnng!
