PayPerformancing: Oh wait, nevermind

NOTPayPerPost's acquisition of Performancing that was supposed to have happened last week isn't happening after all. That's right, they decided not to go ahead with it. Gee, um, why don't you your research before even announcing something? PayPerPost was unethical, now they are just plain ridiculous. I am glad Performancing is not going to be picked up, for their sake, at least not by PayPerPost. This doesn't happen very often, at least that I hear of, but it seems like somebody wasn't thinking very clearly before this deal "went down." Both sides (it isn't all PPP's fault) should have inked it before it was made public and official. Now, I don't own a start-up or anything, but I consider this be to in the realm of common not-so-common sense, don't you?

Performancing Firefox plugin is now ScribeFire

ScribeFire
Now you know that PayPerPost acquired Performancing, right? The Performancing Firefox plugin (the blog editor) is now rebranded as ScribeFire. I'm glad the plugin is still its own entity. I am a huge fan of it, and I would hate for any kind of merger, acquisition, or take-over to mess with it. I like it just the way it is. A new name isn't bad in that regard. It may help garner more of an audience for it, not that it doesn't already own the planet in its respective market. I don't know that I have seen anything else (in-browser) like it. ScribeFire, not Performancing. I haven't had a chance to install my stikkit (mental cortex edition, just kidding) but when I do, I will have to make a mental note of it, ScribeFire, I have got to remember that. With the new name, also comes a new website, at ScribeFire.com. Not much there yet, but there will be more coming soon. Stayed tuned.

PayPerformancing, the acquisition

PayPerFormancingThe first thing I thought when I read that PayPerPost would acquire Performancing was "oh great." I am not a huge fan of PayPerPost and their less than ethical way of doing business. I wasn't happy about hearing that PayPerPost will acquire Performancing. You know, the site that is all about helping bloggers succeed? You'll be happy to know that despite this acquisition going down, the Performancing blog editor Firefox plugin many of us wear out daily, will be spun off into a new brand so that it isn't sullied by the likes of PayPerPost. Yay for democracy, or some kind of illogical sense on someone's part. I am sad now, I liked Performancing, the company and the plugin just the way it was. That's life though, right? To PayPerPost, I still am not a fan, but congrats on the nice acquisition of a great blogging company, please don't screw with it too much, m-kay?

Performancing Metrics: Professional stats for your blog

Performancing MetricsPerformancing, the people who brought you the Performancing blogging extension for Firefox, have launched a new web service called Performancing Metrics that aims to provide "professional grade blog statistics" for serious bloggers. Performancing Metrics can handle multiple blogs and will aggregate data from all of your blogs, generates RSS feeds so you keep an eye on your stats easily, and shows AdSense data and search engine traffic. It's entering a market currently occupied by Mint and, though it's not geared specifically to blogs, Google Analytics. Performancing Metrics is currently in a free, open beta period; no word on whether the service will still be free once it's out of beta.

Performancing blog editor - Today's Browser Tip

PerformancingFlock made big news with its integrated blogging tools, but if you're happy with Firefox and don't want to make a switch, check out Performancing for Firefox. Performancing is a blog editor that integrates into Firefox so you can just hit F8 to bring up a form that will post directly to your WordPress, Movable Type, or Blogger blog, among others. The WYSIWYG editor can be configured to open in a tab, in a new window, or in the current tab as a split pane. It also has drag-and-drop text and image placement. Barb Dybwad over at the Social Software Weblog calls it "the coolest Firefox extension, evar," and she should know.

The World's Hardest Game 2.0 - Time Waster

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do. Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
