Widgetize: Opera widget generator

WidgetizeOpera Software has launched Widgetize, a web-based wizard that will help you create a widget for Opera 9 in three simple steps. Currently Widgetize only allows you to make RSS feed widgets, but offers some customization. You can choose between "Advanced" and "Classic" widgets, and there's many attractive themes to work with. Once you've created your widget, Widgetize gives you a link as well as various code for sharing your widget on your web site or forums.

Portable Opera 9 for your USB thumb drive

Portable Opera 9Awhile back we linked to a tutorial on making the Opera web browser portable, i.e. modifying it so it can be run from a USB drive. It wasn't a perfect tutorial (and some people don't want to go through 16 steps no matter how easy they are), though, but and today something better came along: OperaUSB is a portable version of Opera 9 for Windows that you just need to copy to a thumb drive and you're ready to go. Opera 9 final released

Opera 9After months of testing, the newest version of the Opera web browser has finally gotten its final release. Opera 9 is now available for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris. The biggest new features in Opera 9 are content blocking, built-in BitTorrent support, widgets (yeah, widgets), per-site preferences, and thumbnail preview for tabs. You can see a feature overview here, or a more comprehensive changelog here. As always, Opera is a free download.

Opera 9 Beta 1 arrives

As won't surprise you, most of the change since the last preview build are bugfixes, but since the last major version there's a whole pile of new features, including built-in BitTorrent downloading, a content blocker, thumbnail previews for tabs, site-specific preferences, and widgets.

Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
