Tell the World how you feel with TinySong

tinySong

Having an emotional moment but just can't seem to express yourself with words? Well send a TinySong and tell the World how you feel with music instead.

TinySong is a nifty new application from the folks at GrooveShark that allows you to search for a track on the GrooveShark database, then gives you a short link that you can cut and paste into into an email, instant message or add to a blog entry if you want to funk it up.

TinySong is the latest project from the folks at GrooveShark who have recently been aggressively marketing their service with dirt cheap music download offers such as their Mothers Day 49 cent download offer. TinySong links in to GrooveShark's' marketing efforts as it not only allows users to share songs, but also allows the TinySong recipient to purchase the track they are sent if they are getting into the groove.

The service has only had a soft launch, so you'll have to excuse any quirks, according to the good people at GrooveShark next steps include Twitter and Tumblr integration before a wider launch of the service.

Walmart seeks to keep lead - launches MP3 "DRM Free" music downloads

Aiming to keep its lead in the music retail market, Wal-Mart is launching DRM free MP3 music downloads at Walmart.com for 94 cents per track and $9.22 per album. The uber retailer's music catalog offers digital tracks from major record labels EMI and Universal. The new MP3 format allows customers to play music on most devices, including the ubiquitous iPod, iPhone and Zune players.

Universal followed EMI in announcing DRM free music to major retailers but bypassed iTunes, which is in third place behind Best Buy's second in the music retail market line-up. This is a good move for consumers, allowing competition and hopefully provide more options for the digital music buying public.

DRM free allows users the ability to play songs on any device without copyright protection software, which not only limits unauthorized copying of songs, but on which devices the songs can be played as well.

Sorry, Mac, and Linux users, no rollback for you - only Window's 2000, XP and Vista are supported.

Sony Ericsson's music download service

sony ericsson music downloadsSony Ericsson is ramping up to launch its music download service. Details of the new service were released Tuesday, and spoke about allowing full music downloading of up-and-coming artists though its mobile phones, with mainstream artists being integrated at a later date. I would imagine that it could be possible to transfer these music downloads to your PC, so you could enjoy music outside of your mobile phone. The new service is called M-BUZZ, and Sony sees this as a giant step at increasing the units sold, and making the M-BUZZ world a strong differentiating feature. It seems like this could also be a move to step up to the competition of the iPod. There were no reports as to when the service will exactly be launched, only talk about late in the second half of 2006.

The World's Hardest Game 2.0 - Time Waster

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do. Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
