MacJams released 4th set of free loops

macjams logoA couple weeks ago I posted about a weekly series of free loops being released from MacJams.com, and this week they've released the 4th set. The site says they're in Apple Loops format, but DLS reader Chris commented on my last post that he had them working in Sony's ACID Express on Windows, since I believe they're simply AIFF files. I haven't played with the loops yet myself, but I understand they cover a range of ambient, jazz, hip-hop and other sounds. Last but not least, the loops are licensed for non-commercial use, but check out their site for more details.

MacJams releases 3rd Installment of Free Loops

macjams.com logoMacJams.com has announced the third set of their "Five Weeks of Free Loops" series. I know each ~22 MB set of loops are compatible with GarageBand, but I'm not sure if they work with any other OSX apps like Soundtrack or Pro Tools. (Anyone care to sound off?) The first set is an "Urban Style" series of drum, bass and synth loops, but I haven't played with the second or this new third set yet. They're all licensed for non-commercial use, although MacJams is a music sharing community for amateur and aspiring musicians from which I've heard a couple have scored record deals. (No promises though!) So check out the free loops they've released so far, have fun with em and keep your ears peeled for the final two installments in the coming weeks.

It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet. They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...
