Sun acquires another open source company
In an unexpected move, Sun recently snatched up yet another provider of Open Source software: Innotech, the creator of the popular VirtualBox program. As we previously covered, VirtualBox is a high quality virtual machine solution available under the GNU GPL. It is similar to competitors VMware and Parallels in both speed and features.With this latest feather in its cap, Sun has an increasingly compelling stable of Open Source solutions, including a powerful operating system (OpenSolaris), a portable programming language (Java), a fully featured office suite (OpenOffice) and an already widely used database system (MySQL).
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
