Yahoo! Go for Mobile 2.0 Gamma version

yahoo goYahoo! announced the release of the beta version of Yahoo! Go 2.0 in January, and now they have moved on to the Gamma version. I have been using this application on my Blackberry and RAZR since it came out, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it. It connects me instantly with my Yahoo! email, news feeds, weather reports, stock reports and Flickr photos, all through an intuitive interface. The new Gamma release brings with it the ability to search directly from maps and share oneSearch(TM) results and news with friends. Yahoo's oneSearch makes it easier to get results with one click, and supports hundreds of devices. The application will recognize what your intent was to type, and then provides users with the results for the most relevant answers for search queries. Through the oneSearch widget, you can check out what the hottest searches are in any given section. Given that this is out of Beta, I am assuming that it will be open for everyone to download this time around. Last round Yahoo! cut off the download shortly after it was released, apparently because they had filled all testing slots.

One thing I grit my teeth at: Yes, Yahoo!'s new mobile ads are appearing in certain sections of this version of Yahoo! Go for Mobile 2.0.

Socializr now in...gamma?

SocializrSocializr aims to...we don't know yet because it is in "gamma." That's right folks, you heard the talking monkey correctly, gamma, as in radiation. If you become a gamma tester for someplace like Socializr, I wonder, do tell, is there a high risk of someone coming by and dropping a friendly nuke on your computer? Even if not, what the hell does "gamma test" mean? Regardless, Socializr is going to end up being some type of social events service according to TechCrunch. If you have your anti-radiation meds and hazmat suit, check out the "gamma" (you don't hear that one every day) at Socializr.com. Oh, did I mention that I am writing the next killer web 2.0 app to trump all others before it? It is called crappr, now in zulu, which we in the software business affectionately call the "twinkle-in-the-developers-eye" stage, or in plain english "never going to happen."

The World's Hardest Game 2.0 - Time Waster

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do. Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
