Grab three free games from Amazon's new Casual Game Store

Good news, casual gamers: Amazon has purchased Reflexive, which means the do-all e-tailer now has a massive collection of downloadable games at their disposal.

Currently, the store has over 600 available for purchase including games like Spandex Force and Yummy Drink Factory. You can probably find a few games that would be better choices than those, though.

Titles retail for $9.99 or less, but for a limited time you can grab three games for free: Build-a-lot, Jewel Quest II, and The Scruffs.

Of course, you can also find tons of great Time Wasters right here if you'd rather not support Amazon. We're ok with that.

Loops of Zen proves harmony can be frustrating - Time Waster

"Everything is circular, Happy. Feel the flow."

In loops of zen, your task is to restore harmony to an assortment of shapes by assembling them in such a way that "no open end is left over."

Click, click, click. Turn, turn, turn. Click, click, click. Try again.

It's a good thing the process is so simple, because I probably would have gotten hopelessly flustered with anything more complicated once I'd gotten through a few levels of this seemingly simple puzzler.

Soothing, ambient music plays gently in the background. It's clearly an attempt by the game's developer to keep you from launching your fancy new netbook out a window as you search for the right combination of twists and turns to complete each level.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go look for something in the snowbank. Totally unrelated.

Casual Collective: Time Wasters from Dekstop Tower Defense makers

Buggle Stars
If you're the sort of person who can spend all day playing casual web games instead of getting any work done, I'd advise you to stop reading this post. Like now. Come back to it this weekend. Seriously.

OK, for the rest of you, the guys behind the insanely addictive Desktop Tower Defense game we told you about last year are back. This time they have a new web site and company called the Casual Collective that's choc full of similarly addictive games.

The games include an updated version of Desktop Tower Defense, which supports multiplayer mode, a run and jump game called Buggle Stars, a real-time strategy game called Minions, and 5 other games. In other words, you could easily spend an hour on each and ruin your entire workday. Or make it better...

The World's Hardest Game 2.0 - Time Waster

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do. Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
