Now you can use Paypal to Do Stuff For Money!

Paypal just launched an interesting new service called Do Stuff For Money to let you offer money via PayPal to make a dare or request a service from a friend. There's an easy form to fill out to make your offer, which will then be posted on the site itself, and also sent to your friend via email or Facebook. If your friend (or target, I suppose) accepts the offer, you can then pay them via Paypal.

Do Stuff For Money doesn't exactly add new functionality to PayPal. I mean, you could always send money to your friends, and it's not so hard to email someone yourself to make the dare. However, the public display of the dares makes for some fun reading, though, and it adds a little bit of accountability to call someone out like that.

Yahoo! ad deal with Viacom

yahoo viacom ad dealViacom's strategy of providing an immersive entertainment experience will now be monetized throughout their portfolio of properties with Yahoo's new Panama ad platform.

In this ad deal, Yahoo's newly launched search marketing platform will be the exclusive provider of all contextual and sponsored search ads for a first run of 33 Viacom sites, with the strong potential to expand to another 140 additional Viacom sites under a multi year deal.

The current site roster that will be participating in the partnership includes MTV.com, VH1.com, Nickelodeon.com, comedycentral.com and BET.com. Viacom is the number one online entertainment destination with over 90 million unique viewers in February 2007.

Yahoo's Panama ad platform has only just been released, but its growing strong. Viacom has just jumped on board as a huge partner, who could be the next one to steal valuable space away from Google?

$10,000 says Windows Vista won't ship on time

Bill GatesEarlier this week Bill Gates said there was an 80 percent chance Windows Vista would ship in January 2007 as scheduled. At the time I said "I wouldn't make any bets with odds like that," and neither would Mac developer Wil Shipley--he wants to bet Bill $10,000 that Vista won't ship by next January, and he's giving the Microsoft chairman 3 to 1 odds (which, for the math-challenged, is better than Bill's 80%, or 4:1). Of course, Gates will never take him or anyone else (except maybe Ballmer or Allchin) up on that bet, but it would be nice to see him put his money, as Shipley says, where his mouth is.

The World's Hardest Game 2.0 - Time Waster

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do. Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
