Skype offering 25% off 12-month SkypeOut subscriptions

SkypeOut discount
If you make a lot of PC to phone calls using Skype but haven't already signed up for a 12 month unlimited plan, you might want to think about placing an order before May 6th. Because Skype is offering a 25% discount for customers who sign up for unlimited SkypeOut plan between now and then.

The cheapest plan starts at $2.95/month before the discount is applied for calls to landlines and celllphones in the US and Canada. You can also subscribe to a plan that lets you make unlimited calls to landlines in a single country, or an "Unlimited World" plan that lets you make calls to landlines in more than 40 countries for $12.95/month before the discount is applied.

Avoid pesky shipping costs with Free Shipping On

Free Shipping On
Has this ever happened to you? You run out of ink, paper, good books to read, or something else, so you go online to order replacement as soon as humanly possible. You find what you need for a good price, add it to your cart, and then when you hit the checkout button the shipping charges hit you like a 2 ton heavy thing. The truth is while many sites like Amazon promise free shipping on orders over a certain price, it's not always easy to tell if an item qualifies for free shipping.

Free Shipping On is a new service that makes it easier to find free shipping deals. First, the site has a huge database of deals and coupon codes you can use to get free shipping from stores like Newegg, Circuit City, Staples, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Apple. The site is sort of like CouponMountain, Techbargains, or xpBargains, except it focuses specifically on free shipping deals.

But you can also use the service to search Amazon and eBay only for items that can be shipped for free. No more surprises in the checkout aisle... or cart.

Avoid long lines on Black Friday with these shopping sites

Retrovo
Looking for a few good bargains on tech toys and consumer electronics this holiday season, but didn't feel like waking up at 4am this morning to fight with fellow shoppers at Best Buy or Circuit City? It turns out you can get some pretty good bargains year round, if you know where to check.

FreshBargains is the bargain aggregator for bargain aggregators. You can use this one site to find deals form popular sites like SlickDeals, FatWallet, TechBargains, DealCatcher, XPBargains, and several other sites. There's also a facebook widget and you can subscribe to RSS feeds or email alerts.

Or if you're looking for information, and not just bargains, check out Retrovo. You can use Retrovo just to find the lowest prices on particular products. But if you want to find the digital camera that has the most bang for the buck, Retrevo has a new "value map" feature that lets you know which items have the best specs for the price. You can search all kinds of categories for electronics like PDAs, digital cameras, TVs and cellphones. And if you want the info you can't find on the back of the box, Retrevo will also show you complete product manuals.

Find eBay bargains with Lastminute Auction

Lastminute AuctionTired of placing bids on eBay only to find out that the price of the item you're eying skyrockets in the last few minutes of the auction?

Well, we can't promise you'll be able to pick up that new notebook for under a buck, but Lastminute Auction provides a simple interface for finding items going for a buck or less with under an hour left until the auction ends.

The service scans ending auctions and lists any items that are selling for $1 or less (not including shipping) as soon as they hit the one hour to go mark. You can browse by categories including books, DVDs, music, and computer accessories. Or you can search the site.

Or if you want to be really creative, you could search eBay, sort by auctions ending soon and only look at the listings that are about to end. Still, Lastminute Auction provides a nice interface for keeping your eyes on the prize. When you're on eBay, there's always the risk of straying too far from the bargains and spending more money than you'd intended.

December PDA software sales

20 percent offIt's December, and that means crazy sales on everything, even PDA software. Not that I really expect you to buy a copy of Conduits Pocket Player or eSoft Interactive's Word Challenge for that special somebody in your life. But if you do, you can save a few bucks this month.

Here's a few bargains we dug up. Feel free to post others in the comments section.
  1. Conduits has a coupon code for 35% off of anything in the Conduits Store. The code is holidaysale2006 and it's good through January 31st, 2007.
  2. eSoft Interactive is going a bit further, slashing prices on all the games in their store by 50%. The coupon code ESOFTHOLIDAYS is good through Januardy 1st, 2007.
  3. PocketGear is offering 20% of any purchase. The code holiday20 will only work for a limited time, but it's not clear when it expires. In the past, PocketGear codes have been known to work long after the promotion had ended, so keep this one handy and see if it works even after PocketGear takes the banner ad down from their site.
  4. This one's not software based, but Pocket PC Techs makes cables, screen protectors, and power accessories for PDAs. They also do PDA upgrades and repairs. The coupon code PPCTCAMPXMAS02 will save you 20% on any purchase made through January 15th, 2007.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet. They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...
