Take a trip across the earth with Google Maps

Walk around the EarthHow many times have you wondered "If I were to head northeast from Akron, Ohio, how many cities would I pass through before I returned to Cleveland?" Well, now you can finally find an answer to that nagging question.

From the guy who brought you the tools to dig a hole through the Earth using Google Maps, comes a tool to show where you would pass if you walked in a straight line around the Earth.

All you do is click the map to set your start point, choose the direction you want to walk, and a line appears. If it looks like it's not a straight line, try to remember that the planet is curved, while your computer monitor is not.

You can also click on points along the line to see what attractions you'd pass by.
