TwoUp brings splitscreen to OS X

If you're used to using another operating system and you've switched to Mac, you might have noticed that there's no easy way to tell an OS X window to take up exactly half of your screen. TwoUp does exactly that, using a menubar icon or some easy key combinations. It has both horizontal and vertical modes, so you can divide your screen whichever way you want.

TwoUp is free, but it has some limitations. It only works on your primary monitor, and it can only do half-screen windows. The developers have another product called SizeUp, which is basically the paid version of TwoUp, and it includes perks like multiple monitor support, full screen and quarter-screen mode, and centering.

Foxden divides one browser tab into multiple pages

With the advent of tabbed browsing, almost everyone has multiple sites open in the same browser window. With the Foxden extension for Firefox, you can take things a step further: multiple sites in the same tab. Activating Foxden opens a window with whichever sites you pick, laid out however you want them.

Foxden works really well as a place to check Twitter, Gmail, Tumblr or one of your favorite blogs, all at a glance. Foxden's also not limited to websites: you can also put in the location of a file on your hard drive, like a text file you dump notes into. The setup for Foxden isn't all click and drag: you actually have to do some typing, but it's pretty simple, and there's a straightforward tutorial you can access from the preferences window.

Microsoft working on split-screen computer sharing

Split ScreenMicrosoft is working on technology that will allow two people to easily use a single computer at the same time. Basically, the software creates two virtual desktops on one monitor, and allows you to plug in a second mouse and keyboard so that two users can work on the same machine at once.

Sure, those on the bleeding edge of technology would rather have one computer and two monitors all to themselves. But in countries where computer access is limited, this is a great way to get a lot of bang for your buck when buying one PC.

Users can also easily share files between the two desktops just by scrolling their mouse over to the other side of the screen.

The World's Hardest Game 2.0 - Time Waster

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do. Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game. The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...
