Skype 2.5 beta for Mac released
Why are there always a ton of applications out there that aren't released for Mac until months, or sometimes years, after the Windows version comes out? Skype announced the release of Skype 3.0 Windows Beta at the beginning of November, and Skype 2.5 for Mac wasn't even out yet. Fear not, Om Malik reports that Skype just dropped the bomb that Skype 2.5 beta for Mac is out. Mr. GigaOM says that the new Mac version features outbound SMS text messages and 10-way conference calling. A great new feature of this version is the display of cash left in your SkypeIn or SkypeOut account. Don't forget the added bonus of being able to leave messages for your friends when they are offline or on the move. So when do you think the 3.0 version for the Mac will be released?
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
