A thoughtless burglar was caught red-handed in Mussidan (the Dordogne, France) whereas it had reconsidered the spot to repair a lapse of memory and to take the remote control of the already catch television set.

The robber, 26 years old, had been introduced into the house by effraction, Monday midday in the absence of owner, a pensioner, and had carried shotguns, an oil lamp, small objects of collection and the television set.

While returning, the victim had discovered the facts and had gone at once to the gendarmerie to deposit there felt sorry for. Whereas the pensioner was still in the buildings of the gendarmerie, a neighbor had invited it to announce the return of the intruder to him.

The owner and of the gendarmes then went at once on the spot where the robber was challenged. This last explained why it had simply forgotten to take the remote control of the television set. It briefly was placed in police custody and was convened with an audience of the correctional court.

Not everyone loves Steve's parties {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 13th 2006 7:52AM ZDAR, you don't have people like that in your life, they have geeks like you in their lives. ;)
Interesting article. Though you could lay back and think: actually a lot of people were outside while Steve was giving his speech, you know, socialize, have fun.

iPhone revealed finally? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 12th 2006 11:11AM It is fake. Proper spelling would have been la pomme d'apple, which means apple's apple. Probably not made by a native french speaker.

Civiballs is a beautiful, soothing physics puzzle Time Waster

CiviballsI have an absolute weakness for physics games, and while Civiballs isn't the strongest physics-based game, what it lacks in the physics department it makes up for a few times over in style and fun.

In Civiballs, you are presented with a few colored balls, and your goal is to get those balls into the same-colored urn on the level. The "civi" part of Civiballs is that there are 3 sets of levels to play, each representing a different civilization. While the civilization doesn't affect gameplay, the artwork for each level is beautifully themed to it's appropriate era.

To play the game, you are given only one tool - a sword with which to cut the chains that are holding the balls. The puzzle part of the game is in figuring out what order, and with what timing to cut each chain. Do it right, and all the right balls end up in the right urns, with no stray balls entering an urn (a no-no). Do it wrong, and you get to start over again.

Civiballs is not terribly deep on gameplay; the entire game can be completed in about 15 minutes. But if you enjoy this type of game, it will be a very enjoyable 15 minutes.
