DLS @ SXSW - PayPal
PayPal had a nice booth at SXSW and was there to promote their API and developer platform, which now allows developers (hint: mobile developers, prayers answered) to enable PayPal's e-commerce solution within their apps. They were also there promoting their new iPhone app, which allows you to manage your PayPal account and send money to merchants or friends. Paypal, if you believe you can put a fig leaf over your dubious business practices by donating a few cents to Haiti: I'm sorry, it's not working on me.
Stop freezing accounts. Stop answering emails with boilerplates. Charge smaller fees. Either make that farce that buyer protection is into a real, trustworthy insurance, or stop it completely. Take users' security seriously. Stop making your empire as intransparent as you can (no, I don't really feel like sueing a legal entity in Luxemburg.). Make your terms and conditions readable. Become a real bank, instead of that intermediate thingy you currently are.
In short: Become transparent, predictable, reliable.
