Universal sues Grooveshark music service
Grooveshark is a fantastic music service; it lets you immediately listen to almost any song or album you can think of. They've got an enormous library, and the quality is usually decent. We've covered it before, but what makes it special for me is that it is actually one of the few services that work in my geotarded neck of the woods (no Hulu or Spotify for me).
And now, Universal Music Group is suing Grooveshark. This is also not the first lawsuit they're facing, so they probably know the drill by now (they've reached a settlement with EMI).
Incidentally, do you think this has anything to do with Universal's new Vevo service, inspired by Hulu? I'm sure it's just a coincidence. I would tell you what Vevo is like, but I can't because it is "not currently available in my country". Go Universal, I love you guys.

Chromatic is one of the best time-wasters I've recently come across. It's all about the gameplay -- no Flash graphics here. You play a "circle" (it doesn't really have a name in the game). You move around with the arrow keys, and you change colors with Z, X, and C.
You can either be red, blue, or yellow, and you can switch at any time during the game. Each color has different capabilities -- yellow can double-jump, while red has a longer dash (which is like a forward sprint, activated by double-pressing DOWN).

Actually, can somebody explain to me how Grooveshark works? I'm always amazed by how they get get away with what they do.

from what i've seen during usage, they have a paid version lacking ads. in addition to this, in order to download a track you have to pay. and the person you download from gets a cut of the price as well. it's a very interesting set up. how they've kept it going...is beyond me

And not to mention that if you have some basic, free tools you can easily download anything from grooveshark, for free...as you can download internet radio.

Wow, I was kinda expecting them to be sued by someone eventually. Universal Music Group? Yikes! Poor Grooveshark. Hope this doesn't ruin them. I like Grooveshark!

Why doesn't the record industry just hand out bottles of vaseline with all these lawsuits....maybe that's why people don't buy music.
