Windows Mobile 7 reportedly delayed until 2011
An announcement from Microsoft regarding Windows Mobile 7 has been a long time coming. There was even talk of simply abandoning the ailing Windows Mobile platform. News today would suggest that it is coming though, but not until 2011. It's not clear yet, without a comment from Microsoft, if this new information supersedes TechRadar's report that we'll be seeing Windows Mobile 7 next month. It was expected, after an already-long delay, that Microsoft's CES keynote would include news of Windows Mobile 7 -- but alas, that was not the case (in fact, it might've been the most lackluster keynote ever, but that's another matter entirely).
If the latest news from BSN and reports from all the major phone manufacturers like HTC, Nokia and Lenova are to be believed, we may be seeing a lot of Android-powered phones this year. Apparently all of the devices that were meant to be Windows Mobile-powered and launched in 2010 have been renamed and rejigged to run Android! Without official word from Microsoft, I would suggest Windows Mobile fans stay calm... for now.
We'll know for sure in February!
The Illusionist's Dream is a simple platformer; you play as a magician who needs to get through each level by transforming into any number of animals that you encounter along the way.
Each animal can do different things; the butterfly can obviously fly, but if it encounters a frog, the frog eats it, and you have to start over again. There's also a fox that runs fast and leaps far, but it eats any rabbits that cross its path. That means that, if you may need to be a rabbit later on, you need to take that into account ...

They need to just go ahead and abandon it now. Either that or just insert a phone app into the Zune Platform and move forward from there

Well, that's basically what they are doing for WM7, which shares the same codebase as the Zune HD, as well as very strict minimum hardware requirements (no more 524MHz phones). These specs were leaked last spring (including the shared codebase)...

And confirmed by athis September ...

One of the most anticipated features is the ability for it to seamlessly use it with your ZuneHD just like iTunes. Other feasible rumors is it using TouchFlo and Sense and some dash of silverlight 3.0. For sure the MWC event will be exhilirating.

Considering this BSN site doesn't source anything, and it runs counter to what both Steve Ballmer AND Robbie Bach said at CES (in the keynote and other publicly reported discussions), this sounds more like FUD than anything else.

Aye, I'm inclined to agree -- mentioning the manufacturers too though... that's a low blow, if it's not true!

Yeah, I find it hard to believe that HTC would abandon ANY platform. If they could, they'd put out their own Blackberry and iPhone OS devices as well. ;)

Typically you guys are on the ball with this stuff. But check your facts next time. Tom Warren of Neowin.net has just blown this story out of the water.

Bad reporting is bad.

You should read my actual article...!

Sorry for the hasty assumptions based on the title. I was speaking more out the frustrations of seeing Retweets in my feed promoting the garbage that BSN was reporting.
Comments about bad reporting completely refracted! Apologies again.
You guys are still the best. Keep up the good work!

We already knew that, but thank you for the confirmation :)

I would suggest (all six) Windows Mobile fans stay calm... for now.

Shit man, are you claiming that Windows Mobile has a larger user base than Opera??

The BSN article is a scatterbrained. It is mixing and matching WM7, with Zune Phone, with Android, with W7, with Chromium, with Linux.....as if all those OSes run on the same devices.
Based on that, I'll call BS until something a little more concrete, and less scatterbrained, comes along.

Microsoft should just buy Palm. Bam! Instant WM7.

Nice, since when is Nokia the authority on WinMO developments?
At least putting that FUD in headlines may bring you some comments and traffic.
tsk tsk tsk

Just repeating the source -- probably another sign that the source is faulty :)
