Times Skimmer: a different look for the New York Times
Articles are presented in a grid, using the same fonts the NYT uses in its print edition. It looks sharp, it's quick to read, and ads are actually pretty minimal: one ad per page, and the ad isn't bigger than any of the articles in the grid. You can browse the paper by sections, including all of the NYT's blogs and current hot news topics. Times Skimmer might not be enough to pull me out of my RSS reader on a regular basis, but it is seriously pretty.

Chromatic is one of the best time-wasters I've recently come across. It's all about the gameplay -- no Flash graphics here. You play a "circle" (it doesn't really have a name in the game). You move around with the arrow keys, and you change colors with Z, X, and C.
You can either be red, blue, or yellow, and you can switch at any time during the game. Each color has different capabilities -- yellow can double-jump, while red has a longer dash (which is like a forward sprint, activated by double-pressing DOWN).

I like it very much, for me usually reading the headlines and a short summary is enough.
The layout makes it easy to see an overview of news headlines w/pics, easy to navigate. Well done
