Social media a smash hit on the Xbox -- 2 million users in its first week!
According to a spokesman from Microsoft, over 2 million users logged into Facebook using their console... in just the first week! Not only did they log in and poke their cute prospective girlfriends and answer banal questions about each other, they also created half a million Last.fm accounts and streamed a total of 120 million minutes of music -- again, in just the first week!
These crazy numbers are shocking; it's truly a case of build-it-and-they-will-come. The break-neck pace at which Microsoft and Sony update their consoles is a sure sign that competition between the PS3 and Xbox is still hotting up.
The console war is not yet over! Poor Wii... there's a new Zelda title coming soon, right?

The Illusionist's Dream is a simple platformer; you play as a magician who needs to get through each level by transforming into any number of animals that you encounter along the way.
Each animal can do different things; the butterfly can obviously fly, but if it encounters a frog, the frog eats it, and you have to start over again. There's also a fox that runs fast and leaps far, but it eats any rabbits that cross its path. That means that, if you may need to be a rabbit later on, you need to take that into account ...

Just because 2 million users logged in during the first week, does not mean they will continue to log in. Every friend I know who is both an XBOX friend and a facebook friend was quite underwhelmed. Post were usually "Neat.", "First and last post from the xbox", etc.

Hehe, very true -- but it's also safe to assume that more than 10% of Xbox Live's user base (20 million I think?) use Facebook on a regular basis. I expect more people will slowly trickle in over the following weeks/months, especially if they uncripple some of the functionality.
Not sure what the total figure will turn out to be -- but even so, streaming audio from Last.fm to your TV is pretty useful...!

Great features in writing, but very poorly executed.
Until I can access Twitter and Facebook through the Guide button, I have no need for either one on the 360.
And Last.FM? What's the point of turning on the jet engines and leaving your TV on the whole time, just to get an ad-filled music experience with a poor resolution slideshow going on in the background? No thanks. Again, give me music streaming through the Guide button that can be played while gaming, and I'll actually use it.
Not hard to believe the stats for the week one, but let's have a look at week 2 stats.
