Internet movie channel Epix launches this weekend
If you're not a FiOS customer, you can still request an invite to check out the service. Just sign up at EpixHD.com/invite and you'll register for a 3-day weekend trial of the internet-only service. The invites are being given out on a first come first, served basis, so you might not get one right away. But Epix plans to offer invitations between now and Thanksgiving.
Epix is run by Viacom, Paramount, Lionsgate, and MGM, so the company has access to a decent collection of movies, although it looks like most of the titles available at launch are older movies.

Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. I signed up. I ditched cable and use Hulu/Netflix/Boxee/Joost right now, and maybe Epix can give me an added dimension of media availability.
After I signed up they said they sent me an email... um, I haven't received it yet. Kinda sounded like my invite would be instantaneous. Guess not.
