Google Chrome for Mac is official: developer preview now available

If you've been waiting patiently for Google Chrome to come to the Mac, but you're not an early adopter who likes to take chances with nightly builds, you'll be happy to know that the first official Developer Preview of Chrome is out now. Chrome brings speeds comparable to that other Webkit browser you may have tried on your Mac, Safari. It's also got a growing library of themes, in case the default Chrome blue turns you off.With Safari 4 switching away from the tabs-on-top after trying them out in beta, the orientation of the tabs is Chrome's defining UI feature. Chrome's multi-process architecture also keeps one crashing tab from taking all your other tabs down with it. Sure, you can "restore all tabs" when Firefox crashes, but that's still more of a pain than it needs to be. Chrome is also making strides toward supporting extensions. It'll also import bookmarks and settings from your other browsers, so it's easy to make the switch.

Not having bothered to install Windows on my Mac this is my first taste of Chrome. So far I'm quite impressed! I don't know if it'll overtake Safari as my browser of choice but I'm definitely going to keep playing with it.
Even though it's a developer preview, it's very stable. The only hiccup I've experienced is that one time it failed to load the Chrome equivalent of Safari's Top Sites - a quick refresh fixed the problem.

I'm not sure why, but I cannot import my bookmarks. Anyone else having this issue?

i am also having the importing bookmarks problem. maybe because it's the developer preview?
i had been using chrome for pc before i switched back to mac about a year ago, and chrome is so, so amazing in some ways. i've been occasionally using chrome alpha for mac, but didn't trust it enough to switch over full time. hopefully chrome is close to being at full power for mac...

When will google release the version for Linux? Seems like Google support Andriods (which is linux based) a lot. And how come Linux are pushed further and further away from releasing such a good browser.

Yeah, been using the developers preview for over a week now.
SO much quicker then safari 4.
