Buy a PC recently? Make sure to register for your Windows 7 upgrade
Here's how it works. If you buy a qualifying PC between June 26th, 2009 and January 31st, 2010, you can register for an upgrade to Windows 7 and your PC maker will ship an upgrade DVD to your door. Most netbooks, nettops, and other low cost PCs running Windows XP don't qualify for these upgrade programs and other restrictions may apply. Some companies may send you an upgrade disc for free of while others may charge a small fee and/or charge for shipping.
Here's a roundup of Windows 7 upgrade programs from most of the major PC manufacturers. If you purchased a computer from any of these companies on or after June 26th and haven't already registered for an upgrade you might want to click the links below to register now.

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

The HP site for ordering the Win-7 DVD appears to be slammed as I am stuck on the order confirmation screen. Getting timeouts, insufficient memory and other interesting error msgs.

Has ANYONE received their upgrade kits yet?
This is getting ridiculous. They're already working on Windows 8, and I have yet to receive my 7 disc.
It's pretty sad, I think, that they couldn't mail them out so we'd have them by the 22nd. God forbid anyone should get them and use it on Oct 21st. I guess next upgrade, I'll just wait until Windows 8 or whatever comes out, and then buy the computers then. Sheesh.

I'm wondering, with all the negative feedback I've heard...is it worth it? What's wrong with Vista? I purchased my HP Pavillion Sept. 17th and registered for my uipgrade the 23rd. To track the order, you need an order number which HP didn't put on the receipt.

I used the Acer promotion, and they promised a release of the OS when it's released on Oct. 22. I am still waiting for mine, and they replied to my e-mail stating that it's based on a first come, first served basis. So be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait. They didn't state that in the promotion.

I was looking at your list of PC makers for the upgrade of Windows 7 and you don't have COMPAC listed. I bought a compac with windows vista in August so am i entitled to the free upgrade.
