Breaking: iPhone users 300% more likely to Tweet after sexy parties
I'll just put into words what you're all thinking: what a big frackin' surprise. Apple users more vapid and self-centered than other-brand gadgeteers? Say it ain't so!
In fact, stereotypical Apple users are a classic example of modern-day 'Napoleon complex' (or 'short man syndrome' as you might know it by). Their gadgets -- their white, creamy, curvy, brushed-aluminium gadgets -- are compensating for something else. In this case, a lackluster sex life: 'Yeh, totally jst gve her some juice, lol.'
Anyway, moving on, back to the news rather than what we already know. This new report from Retrevo finds that 36% of all under-35 year olds update their Facebook wall or Twitter accounts post-coitally. Perhaps unsurprisingly, men are twice as likely as women to take part in this godawful practice.
I guess we should just be grateful that the report focused on what happens after rather than during... After all, we know someone paid to have the Passion app rate their performance between the sheets.

You seem to be misunderstanding the article. "1 in 3 sexy tweets are from information-Phone users" is not the same statistic as "information-Phone users are three times more likely to Tweet sexily".

Not sure if they targeted the right people and have enough samples. Sometimes, statistics like this are based on previous reports which can really affect the overall outcome.
How can you really tell if a person is like this via his/her tweeting habits or his/her choice of mobile phones? Totally ridiculous.
Perhaps they should focus on thinking something else like these German students who built an iPhone controlled car!

"Apple users [are] more vapid and self-centered than other-brand gadgeteers." Apple users? Not to stand in the way of your sweeping stereotype, but almost everyone I know who has an iPhone is a self-described "PC User."
Since the writers of this blog seem to like to push FUD buttons, here's another equally possible (similarly ridiculous) interpretation of the same statistic:
Blackberry owners are so embarrassed by their lack of ability to satisfy their partners that they are 3x less likely to tweet about their experience post-sex.

See Seb, isn't this job a blast? I mean, *plenty* of people hated me before I became a tech blogger -- but for sheer economy of effort -- there is nothing like tech blogging for adding to the list of people who'd rather you catch fire so they have an excuse to spit on you.

You only think you're kidding, Grant. Besides, with your experience, you should be able to tell the difference between tech blogging, of which there's plenty on this site, and the vacuous display of juvenile trolling that makes up this "article".

This statistic also has to do with the most common contexts for a Blackberry vs. an iPhone. Blackberries are still the staple smart phone for enterprise use and corporations deploy them en masse. While iPhone is slowly being adopted for enterprise use, it is most popular for its playful "street" image, just like the iPod.
The under-35er with an iPhone for personal use would feel much more comfortable uploading their sexual experiences versus an under-35er who has their company owned Blackberry on the nightstand. The two devices are perceived in completely different ways by their users.
This article was horribly written. Whether it was sarcasm or not, it's these rare nuggets of awful that skew the image of this blog.

It's good news -- for iPhone users, because it obviously shows that gadgets are finally moving from the 'oooh, cool!' status to the 'oooh, your place or mine?' -- AND good news for everyone else because they know now that a person's choice of communication device is a telltale sign of someone's penchant for kissing and telling.

The problem is you twisted the numbers to target iPhone users, whether positively or negatively. It is a sign of the slow decline of this site where vapid or sensational headlines are preferred over substance because it rakes in more comments and page views.

I agree, the point of view is obviously biased.
But the point of this entry was to draw your attention to the original report, which I thought people might find interesting. I hope I was successful in doing so.
Obviously the report isn't all that scientific, but I'm sure more-serious and quantifiable data will follow!

Also, if you want to defend yourself by saying the iPhone is used by people who "get laid by 3 different women each week" I think you're only proving the original point of the article. And why are you so familiar with your friend's "average" number of sexual encounters per week? That's some data that shouldn't be available to you...

Oddly - or not so oddly depending on your viewpoint - men are twice as likely as women to take part in this godawful practice.

Seriously, the "article" was 2/5 content and 3/5 iPhone user bashing. WTF? I come to DLS because it's supposed to be informative. This drivel is not. And Grant, being a dick to your readers when they call you out for being a dick? Really? REALLY?
