Google launches Search Options for Mobile ... but not Windows Mobile
Searching Google from your mobile browser just got a little bit easier, as long as you're an iPhone, Android or Palm device. Windows Mobile and Blackberry users are left out of Google's new Search Options for Mobile feature, and they're complaining about it in the comments of the Google Search blog. The thing is, they're not really missing much. Search Options for Mobile is marginally useful, but I suspect most users will never realize it's there. Search Options lets you switch from a general web search to forums or reviews only, which I suppose is useful if you need reviews on the go. You can also filter your results by date, which is useful, but certainly not essential. Finally, there are two new ways to view search results: with images from the pages, or with longer snippets. It's nice that this stuff is there, but we've all lived without it since May, when it was first introduced to the non-mobile version of Google. WinMo and Blackberry users hardly have anything to cry about here – except how woefully inadequate their browsers are.

I don't know if this is a labor of love or merely the brainchild of four very gifted games designers, but Level Up is a really weird mash-up of gaming elements that you have probably never seen in a Flash game before.
Let's start with the premise itself: Groundhog Day meets Memento. The game experience revolves around 'days': you explore the world and the clock slowly ticks towards the evening. You bounce around picking up gems and talking to the denizens of 'Level Upland'. Eventually you feel tired and head back to ...

I believe what the author meant was that the built-in browsers on those platforms are pretty bad. Opera and Iris are great browsers, but they are not installed by default on most WinMo and BlackBerry phones.

@Aaron: With IE "6 on 6" appearing on Win Mo phones running 6.5, there's no excuse for this. It provides desktop class browsing.

What about symbian?
I suggest they get thier shit together unless they plan to keep losing market share to mobile OSX, Android, BB, and palm. Also, symbian is pretty irrelevant in the US. Yea, 50% of all phones run symbian - worldwide. In America it's not a factor, and google is an American company, with the heaviest amount of use coming from America.

I think Google has a good approach on realtime. It is obvious that you need great resources to index and offer the most recent information. I think Google can do it.Anyway, some post on important sites arrive very fast in Google index. It is just a matter of time until the realtime search is the new king.
