Vivox brings voice chat to Facebook
Our Download Squad test of Vivox went pretty smoothly. Firing up a channel and inviting people only takes a couple of clicks. Vivox currently only works in Firefox and IE on Intel machines, which might keep a big chunk of your friends from adopting it. On the other hand, the phone-in service works really well and doesn't keep you tethered to a computer. Vivox is definitely worth checking out if you have friends who don't want to download Skype, but do have Facebook.

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

I was using this during the beta chat with the developers a couple of days ago. It really is a great tool for communication on FB. The clarity of the calls was fantastic and there was no lag. The only issue that someone was experiencing during the chat was a lady from USA who was wireless and seemed to be experiancing packet loss, which was nothing to do with the software.
Alot of my friends use Vivox whilst gaming, and have always liked it.
It also has some great features with the Facebook application, including an abilty to create a keyboard shortcut for PPT (Push To Talk), Increase/ decrease volume of other users in the chat, boot users, lock chat room etc.
Setting up a chat room is also really simple, as is inviting friends to the chat/channel, just click the 'Invite Friends To This Channel' button.
I think the initial download was about 8.4MB and only took a few seconds to install. There is also a Provide Feedback button for any features you would like to have in the finished version.
No I'm not affiliated with Vivox, just glad that someone has enabled a feature like this for Facebook. It would have made organising our school re-union a lot easier. Not sure on the maximum amount of users that can be in the room, but there were 30+ in the beta chat the other night.

Sorry for double post:
I also asked them about future uses of the application to include it's use on peoples mobiles, so they could use the intergrate it with their Facebook applications. They said that it was something they were looking into as was their reply to me asking about being able to use it with Google Wave; which they said they were also thinking about; Voice waves etc.
