FeedDemon 3.0 desktop newsreader with Google Reader sync
FeedDemon 3.0 also has a new user interface with a subscription home page with popular articles and videos from your feeds, tagging and tag clouds on the subscriptions home page, and enhanced Twitter support for sharing links through Twitter and reading RSS feeds of Twitter users you follow.
Another cool feature is the ability to subscribe to feeds for search terms. Just select the New Subscription option under the File menu and enter a keyword or search term. The next window will ask you to choose from a list of sites to search including Google News, Google Blog Search, Flickr, Techmeme or Twitter. Or you can find existing feeds that match your search terms.
FeedDemon is available as a free ad-supported download. As you can see in the screenshot, the ads are relatively unobtrusive and hang out in the bottom left corner. You can also buy a license for FeedDemon for $10 to make the ads go away.

I don't know if this is a labor of love or merely the brainchild of four very gifted games designers, but Level Up is a really weird mash-up of gaming elements that you have probably never seen in a Flash game before.
Let's start with the premise itself: Groundhog Day meets Memento. The game experience revolves around 'days': you explore the world and the clock slowly ticks towards the evening. You bounce around picking up gems and talking to the denizens of 'Level Upland'. Eventually you feel tired and head back to ...

I really like this but whenever I click file (or browse or help etc) I get nothing but a blank bit where the drop down menus options should be, can anyone help?

@ggranty: the menu behavior you're seeing is the result of an unfortunate bug which has since been fixed - if you download FeedDemon 3.0 again, it'll work correctly.

@Nick Bradbury: Any chance of a BlackBerry app that syncs to Google Reader? NewsGator Go was awesome for syncing my feeds and reading between my desktops and my BB Pearl and Google Reader's mobile interface absolutely sucks in comparison.

@Anthony: Sorry - I'm not aware of any plans to create a BlackBerry app that syncs with Google Reader.

The thumbnails in Surfer view have shrunk to the size of forum icons. That's a giant minus in my book, as I browse many image-heavy feeds and the thumbnails were the major reason I use FeedDemon.

If you don't mind a bit of geekery, you can change the thumbnail size yourself. Just open the file Surfer.fdxsl2 in FeedDemon's Data\Styles subfolder, then look for the "img.thumbnail" CSS rule. You can change the height and max-width values to your liking.
PS: Note that you'll need to restart FeedDemon for it to reflect any changes you make.
