Add Windows 7 taskbar features to Foobar 2000
Those of you running Windows 7 and looking for an alternative player with the same slick taskbar integration Windows Media Player features, Foobar might be just the thing.
Drop in the Windows 7 Shell Integration component, and you'll be able to control playback right from the taskbar via the thumbnail preview. Album artwork is also displayed, as is a progress bar. You can also pin playlists to the Foobar jumplist and access preferences with two-click ease.
One thing I'd like to see added is an area on the jumplist for recent tracks. Maybe we'll see that worked in to a future build.

I don't know if this is a labor of love or merely the brainchild of four very gifted games designers, but Level Up is a really weird mash-up of gaming elements that you have probably never seen in a Flash game before.
Let's start with the premise itself: Groundhog Day meets Memento. The game experience revolves around 'days': you explore the world and the clock slowly ticks towards the evening. But foobar2000 has it built in from the get-go. And I actually prefer it, despite the lack of the progress indicator. It has all the standard buttons on the toolbar (Stop, Previous, Play/Pause, Next, but most importantly the Random button I use all the time). And I personally think these buttons look better along the bottom:

Steve, does it need to be activated? I just installed it on a Win7 Ultimate machine to test, and I don't have any playback controls, album art, or anything - just the normal thumbnail preview on hover.

Oh actually, maybe its part of Columns UI (which I always install as soon as I have foobar). I forget thats not actually how foobar starts first place.
