Notify is a super-slick little Gmail app for OS X
If you use Gmail on a Mac, you should consider checking out Notify. It's a great-looking, compact app that sits in your menubar and tells you when you have new Gmail messages. It works with up to 4 Gmail accounts, and also supports Growl notifications. It uses only a fraction of the system resources of clients like Apple Mail, so trading in Mail for Notify and Gmail's web interface might be a good move if you're strapped for memory.Notify takes up almost no space on your screen, even when fully expanded. Your separate accounts are laid out in an elegant tabbed interface that's compact, but not crowded. You can use Notify to manually check for new mail, or have it automatically refresh every 1, 2, 5, 10 or 15 minutes. There's also a handy button that opens Gmail in your browser, so you can quickly read those new messages. The app will soon be updated to work with Google Apps email accounts on your custom domain, or with any IMAP account, for that matter.

Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.

Does not work with Google Domains email addresses
Does not support the iMAP IDLE command which would give you instant notification of an new email. Instead it relies on a 'check mail every x minutes'.
So why bother releasing it -- the world is awash with mail notifiers doing what it does right now. Roll on the update.

If I have Google Notifier and only 1 Gmail account, is there a good reason I should change this?

I don't think so; plus the Google Notifier will also give you calendar notifications.

You know, I (the developer) can't really help you with your issues unless you actually contact us. We can't fix it if you just complain.
If your password contains non-alphanumeric passwords, then try changing it to remove them. This is a known issue and we're fixing it in 1.1 which should be out in about a month.
