Microsoft Office web apps won't officially support Chrome, Opera browsers

In other words, if you use Google Chrome, Opera, or another web browser, you may be out of luck. It's worth pointing out that Microsoft hasn't said that other browsers won't work. It's just that the company isn't going to take the time to support additional browsers.
According to the blog post, the Office Web apps will be designed to work without any plugins installed, but Microsoft recommends installing Silverlight, which will help the web apps load faster and perform better. The text will also be easier to read, and PowerPoint animations will be smoother with Silverlight installed.

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

Aww come on MS!! I mean Opera is old school now, so ok on that one.
But Chrome is the future! You gotta support the future!
Although they're probably looking long term to the fact that if they allow Chrome to access it, then say, if Chome OS actually manages to get popular, Office Live WONT be accessible on the OS. If that's the case, Dastardly move MS.....dastardly

I love how they "recommend" installing silverlight. I've quit visiting sites that recommend or require that useless application. I know it has great features, etc., etc., but it seems that everything it does can also be done by something that existed before it.

@saint Siminole,

No one should be surprised that MS doesn't want to support Opera after all the bs Opera has caused for them in Europe.

I used to like the idea of Opera, it's had a hard time competing despite some decent innovation, and its market share just seems to remain static with 3 users and one of those is the developers mother. What changed for me is their moaning and whining, they've gone from the plucky underdog to the annoying yappy dog.
As for Office online, meh. Two years too late.

Both being based on webkit, it should work fine in Chrome if it works in Safari...
