Launching a new CMS these days is a tough proposition. It's a crowded field, and distinguishing your product takes some ingenuity. Well,
FireRift is one publishing platform that knows how to take a marketing concept way, way over the top. The video commercial for FireRift is like something out of a campy Ronnie James Dio video from the '80s, with a meteor, glowing eyes, and a couple of wizardly guys charging into each other on a sand dune. It's totally stylized and totally absurd, but you're not going to ask, "Oh, which one is FireRift, again?" after seeing it.
I'd like to think our readers want a little more in a CMS than a commercial with some cheeseball special effects, though, so I should also mention that there's a screencast of FireRift available, so you can see the app in action. It runs through setting up an image/video gallery in FireRift, and the process actually looks well-designed and pretty simple to do.

It has been in beta for a long long time now!
I remember stumbling across that page over a year ago.
Hand-down, the best CMS I've ever used is ExpressionEngine.

I'll second that, OrganizedFellow. EE 2.0 is shaping up to be superb as well. :)

@Dogugotw I've been wondering for weeks and even months why there are less and less download related articles..

well if the FireRift people got their act together - we would have something to download!
Even the copyright date at the bottom of their page hasn't changed - still says 2008. Wonder if they are even doing anything. No point having the worlds best CMS when you dont even give people a chance to use it.

Heh... I have no idea what this is or what it's used for (no need to bother enlightening me, I don't honestly care), but that was fun.

I guess it's kinda good in a cheesy kinda way, but strictly speaking, it's a terrible commercial since it doesn't tell you anything about the product. I mean this could be anything, from motor oil to the next twitter, seriously.
