Torrent sites RTM Windows 7 before Microsoft does

Strike up the marching bands! Bring in the dancing girls!
But hang on just a tic. Isn't build 7600.16385 already floating around all over the P2P filesharing ether? The previous incremental build 7600.16384 looked pretty real, based on what Softpedia shared.
It sure looks like the new leak is the real deal. IsoHunt has several results for 7600.16385 and they've been happily active for several days. I've even seen it installed firsthand - on someone's Toshiba laptop, though I can't recall where *cough*.
Of course, Microsoft's official line all along has been to stay away from leaked ISOs, because you never know what kind of pure digital evil might be hiding inside. And there could very well be some subtle differences between what's been leaked and what winds up preinstalled on systems and boxed on retail shelves.
I'm pretty convinced that what's out there is legitimate and that someone, somewhere (possibly in Eastern Europe - Wzor, we're looking at you) leaked the build that was later signed off on as the RTM.
What about you?
Breaking addition! Check after the break for ACTION-PACKED footage of Steven Sinofsky signing off! It's better than an episode of Briscoe County Jr....
So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

but isn't the ISO image in 16384/385 homemade? Think I will wait for the MSDN/Technet versions to drop as those ISOs will be more reliable. REAL.PROPER scene groups FTW!!!

What’s leaked is not the ISO image. It was made by Wzor or others. I been downloading all the RC's, but I have stayed away from this one because almost none of the hash number match between downloads. With the RC's you could compare the hash numbers with information from other websites, with this one I yet to find one that matches what I found on forums. I'm sure that within the next two days a real ISO will get leaked.

There are some things I'd trust through a torrent network, but an entire OS is not one of them. Unless it's an official linux torrent or something similar.

meh. Vista worked for me

I completely agree.
I don't like leaving room for sketchiness when it comes to my OS... Oh wait, we're talking about Windows.

I completely agree. I (attempted) to download a copy of Vista Ultimate to replace the failed disk I had and it screwed up my laptop. I couldn't even use it.

well, public torrent sites are one thing. thats like buying drugs on a street corner. i wouldnt get anything from a public site. private torrent sites on the other hand are usually one step away from the scene. what you get is never compromised.

I'd wouldn't download it.. Plain and simple, just wait for it to come out. You dont know what you're getting with these builds..

Download "Windows 7 ISO Verifier" from http://www.istartedsomething.com/20090706/windows-7-iso-verifier/
I found out I had downloaded the "real deal"

But how do I know that's the real verifier? Where can I download a verifier-verifier?
KeiOthic said 8:01PM on 7-23-2009
Tested on the verifier for x64, hash wasn't a match. The boot install was custom from an older build, can't remember which. It is still not officially official RTM from Microsoft directly. Manufacturer's OEM comes out tomorrow though (july 24), might as well see if anything gets leaked then. This time from the state side and not china (I'm hoping anyways)
