SeaMonkey 2 Beta 1 combines web browser, email, IRC, more
SeaMonkey 2.0 Beta 1 features the same browser core as Firefox 3.5.1, which means that it can render pretty much any web page that Firefox can. It has the same rendering engine, Javascript engine, and add-on capabilities. But it does have more of an old fashioned looking default theme.
In addition to the web browser, SeaMonkey has an integrated email application, Usenet newsgroup reader, IRC client, and HTML editor.
The application also features a number of updates since SeaMonkey 2.0 Alpha 3, including:
- A new download managr with resumable downloads
- Localized packages in 15 languages
- Feed previews in the browser
- Mail archiving support
- New preference options

Let's start with the premise itself: Groundhog Day meets Memento. The game experience revolves around 'days': you explore the world and the clock slowly ticks towards the evening. You bounce around picking up gems and talking to the denizens of 'Level Upland'. Eventually you feel tired and head back to ...

Finally, I have been using the Alpha for many months now. Glad to know that it's moving forward as I find Seamonkey 2 faster and more responsive than Firefox 3.x

Unlike its successor, Seamonkey doesn't be a resource hog even w opening multiple tabs in the same time. this is one of the reason constantly this browser has gained new users from Firefox.
And default theme has changed from classic mozilla style to more Tango based like one ( not fully Tango, like something between both of themes).
Major change in this beta 1 from alpha 3 is huge improvements on Mail/rss reader by implementation of functions from TBbeta3.
Lightning will work fully w Seamonkey in next beta 2, btw.

SeaMonkey is a descendant of Netscape and Netscape did it first.

I don't want to knock this but it does seem a little pointless and a bit of a waste of time for Mozilla when the people working on this could be working on Firefox/Thunderbird.
Great name though, SeaMonkey.

The AOL Suite should be based on this. I actually preffered Netscape 7.x over the AOL suite.
