How to add Hulu Desktop icon to Windows Media Center
Basically what you need to do is download and install Chad Dyess' modified Media Center Launcher Configuration Utility. This tool lets you add a shortcut for practically any program to Windows Media Center. Next, you'll want to make sure Hulu Desktop is installed. Finally, run the configuration utility and point it to the HuluDesktop.exe file.
That's pretty much all there is to it. You can also create a graphic for the program icon if you want and select which section of Windows Media Center the shortcut will appear in. You can find a more detailed set of instructions at tech-recipes.

You'll never guess what the primary purpose of this game is. OK, OK, stop guessing! I'll tell you: you gotta push pumpkins! But it's not as simple as that. It's not just a Boulderdash clone with Halloween-skinned baddies and pumpkins for stones -- no, it's like some kind of fantastic mash-up of Boulderdash, Mega Man and Pac Man. "you may want to integrated Hulu Desktop with your..."
There's an extra letter in there somewhere.
My question is this: If you have a PC connected to your TV, why not just watch Hulu in the browser? What's the point of downloading the desktop application, if the movie looks just as good in the browser (especially using the full-screen mode) and streams just fine?

Because most people who have it hooked up to a TV in the living room use it strictly for Media Center. Have you ever tried using an browser on a TV from 8 feet away? It's useless. It may still be a PC, but you don't want to whip out a keyboard and mouse all the time, that defeats the purpose (imagine trying to find a keyboard and mouse anytime you wanted t o do something o n Tivo). The whole point is to be able to use a remote, and Hulu desktop is MUCH easier to navigate and use on a TV than the website.

It streams just fine, but it's so much faster and easier to use a four way nav dial (on most media center remotes) than it is to hunt for little icons on the Hulu website with a mouse. It's not about streaming quality, it's about usability.

The easier way is to download the HULU desktop plugin from www.secondrun.tv (IMO)

Hulu does not show up when using Xbox as an extender - any ideas

That's because it doesn't support extenders.

Ok... so how *can* we watch Hulu on an xbox, then? That would really solve pretty much all my home-theater problems right there...
