Windows 7 RTM final build on schedule for July 10th

FINAL ROADMAP FOR WINDOWS 7 [CLIENT-SERVER]:Upgrade coupon plans are in place and some pricing details have been leaked (thank you, Best Buy), but none of this is official yet. We'll just have to wait for Microsoft to quit playing the Hokey Pokey with the Windows 7 product page on their web store or at least for an announcement out of Redmond.
6/1 - 6/19 BUILDING RTM ESCROW - already assembled RTM ESCROW.
6/22 - 7/10 RTM RECALL - assembly and search for candidates to the final RTM release.
7/10 WINDOWS 7 RTM FINAL BUILD TARGET - build day "gold code".
7/13 WINDOWS 7 RTM SIGN-OFF - the date of signing the final RTM release!
It will be interesting to see which appreas first: a leaked VHD of the Windows 7 RTM or Microsoft's announcement that it has been completed.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

Unfortunately, I'm thinking we'll be seeing the RTM before anyone at MS does :P (If that makes sense)

hopefully something leaks before the end of June. I wanna upgrade from 7100 and don't wanna waste a reformat on some intermediate build.

You hope the RTM leaks before it's built? I don't think it's going to happen. Actually, I don't think it's possible for that to happen...

What happens in the months from July when the final code is finished to October when it's released to retail?

They'll likely come up with some more of those fancy comparison charts...

They distribute the build to the various OEMs and software channels. They start work on marketing etc. and keep looking for bugs that may pop up and work on patches to be pushed out immediately after release

Of course this is the first thing I read after reformatting my XP, installing 7 RC1 and booting up Firefox to read the news. Go figure -__-

Well, Tom, the good news is that Windows 7 RC will keep working just fine until March 1st of 2010. The bad news is that you will need to do a fresh install when you switch to RTM/Final come late July or October 22nd.
Wzor.net's information has been wrong before, and we all know that timetables can and do shift. I'm not holding my breath. Just last week Wzor was claiming final RTM build would be the 26th of June. Per this new time-table, 26th would fall during the Pre-RTM build recalls and assembly of the RTM. Microsoft has stated the second half of July publicly as when RTM would be done (see their press release blog) and I'm more inclined to believe that. It gives more time to find some final bugs that might be an issue. Yet it still gives plenty of time for manufacturers to get their code in shape for the official release date, and to system builders (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc).
Am I excited? Yes. I am eagerly looking forward to the official release, and then even some new hardware built up for the new capabilities to be released. Do I believe this time table? No. It will shift again as it has in the past.
