Soon each Firefox tab will be treated as a separate process
One of the coolest features in Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 8 is the way the web browsers treats each open tab or window as a separate process. That means if one tab crashes, the browser won't necessarily close. Plugins like Adobe Flash can also fail without crashing the browser.
Mozilla is working on bringing a similar feature to Firefox. It's not ready for prime time yet, and it won't be included in Firefox 3.5, which is due out any day now. But Chris Jones, one of the people working on the project, has posted a short video that shows an early version of the project (codenamed Electrolysis) in action. As an added bonus, if you click that link in Firefox 3.5 RC2, you'll be able to watch the video in your browser without any plugins.
The video shows what happens when a page goes bad and a process is terminated and restarted. Electrolysis should be ready for general consumption in mid-July.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.

i like that this idea has become a general standard of browsers now.
Altho its funny that IE got onto the idea before FF did

Firefox really could use this pretty badly. I'm tired of the entire browser dying and my session addon not being able to recover everything that was open at the time. I really hope this is put into place before 2010.

Hopefully with this will also come support for Windows 7 thumbnails in the not-too-distant future

My somewhat educated guess is that we'll see more Vista/7 integration in the form of Aero glass and thumbnails in the next version of Firefox.

I think this is a bad idea. It is obvious when running chrome that the browser ends up using much more memory in order to keep all of the processes separate. I like to leave a lot of tabs open and because Firefox lumps them all together it keeps the memory cost down. Hopefully thought with any luck the boys at Mozilla have figured out a way to separate the process without using tons of ram like the memory leaks of previous versions of FF.

use ad on called session manger will recover tabs if browser crashes
