Blogger turns 10, now Google wants to make (more) money from it
But while Google provides users with tools to publish Adsense ads on Blogspot sites (which can certainly help the company raise a fair bit of cash from all of those words), Google doesn't require users to post ads. And that means some users are basically using the service for free without generating any real revenue for Google.
Now Google Operating System reports that Google appears to be experimenting with another revenue generating opportunity. It's starting to place ads on the page that pops up when bloggers publish a post. These ads will never be seen by the readers of your blog, but there's a chance that some bloggers may click on contextual ads related to the articles they've been writing.
I tried writing a couple of test posts on several sites I've created using Blogger, but I didn't see any ads. If you use Blogger and have started noticing ads in the admin interface, let us know in the comments. It seems like a small price to pay for using a service that lets you host and update a blog for free. But I could certainly see it annoying some long-time users.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

Sure, they're providing a service. It won't bother me if they try to make money off all my free blogs...
(Perhaps AdBlockPlus will catch them for me.)

I just posted on my blog to check if it was true and there it was, an ad. It doesn't really bother me. Besides, I could always switch to a self-hosted Wordpress blog.

I'm not seeing any, and I just posted a new one and edited an old one.
That may be AdBlock working there too.

I don't see any, but even if I did, I wouldn't have a problem with it. As long as the readers don't see it, and as long as it's somewhat relevant, I'm cool with it.

I have seen these for a few days now and I don't mind it.
But I do anticipate a problem with newbie bloggers who are newly using AdSense - the policy is very clear on not clicking your own ads and so when this box shows up on your page it isn't completely clear that it's not connected to your blog (after all the content will be very similar) and that you can click on them.
Anyway, really don't think this will make google a lot of money in the long run as the blogger is in and out of his page and off to market his work - not stopping to click on an ad.
Better, in my opinion, would be to offer some kind of premium service at a small price which includes support.

It's not that every time Google showing ads, that's what I found. It appears sometimes only. Normally at the time of posting, Blogger was showing tips related to Blogger.com but now they also do show ads so Google just found a another way to generate revenue.

I also saw these ads as well as one of my fellow blogger. anyway... I've posted this on my blog at http://teknisyan.blogspot.com/2009/06/blog-post_7423.html, the ads are not always appearing.. it just appear randomly... out of 20 publishing, I only got 2 ads, so if you really uses those reminders and tips, it may bother you but I doubt if it will.
for it does'nt matter if they show ads or not... as long as it does not affect my postings.
