Worms coming soon to the iPhone

As if my mobile productivity didn't suffer enough with the release of two other classic games I love - SimCity and Oregon Trail - Team17 is now close to releasing Worms for the iPhone.

It's been under development since last year, but there's no news yet as to when it will finally appear on iTunes. Team17 has yet to add any information about it to their own list of games. Heck, there isn't even an iPhone option in their platform drop-down menu yet.

The exclusive screens look very promising, and very much like a product that is nearly finished. Digging through the Team17 forums, one of the moderators responded to "Is Worms coming to the iPhone?" with a vague "Yeah, in 2009." Hopefully he meant early or mid-2009.
