Spb release Mobile Shell 3.0 for Windows Mobile
Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 also has a finger-friendly user interface that lets you scroll through programs by dragging and dropping the screen. There's a contact utility that's a bit more powerful than the default Windows Mobile contact app. You can sort contacts using widgets. For instance, you can arrange your contact screen so the people you call most often could have larger photos and be featured near the top or bottom of the screen. Another thing you can do is grab photos of your contacts from Facebook.
Some companies may choose to preload Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 on upcoming Windows Mobile handsets. But you can also download and install the application on most phones or PDAs running Windows Mobile 5.0 or later. The software runs $29.95 for a full license, or $14.95 if you're upgrading from Spb Mobile Shell 2.0. There's a 15 day free trial available.

So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. That is, until I tried the game.
The mechanics of the game are very simple. You are a small red square, ...

Seems a little Pre-ish. When will the iPhone get multitasking?!

Thanks for posting about WinMo. I see a lot of stories during the day, but DS never forgets about us. We don't need a crazy app store. We choose to go and find tons of great and mostly free software on the internet. Thanks Download Squad.

I fired up SPB Mobile Shell 3 last night, very impressive. That said, I dunno, there's still something about TouchFlo 3D that I just can't bring myself away from. If I still had my Mogul, make no mistake, I'd had already bought it.

I have a Mogul running spb Mobile Shell 2.1 and upgraded as soon as I got the message yesterday.
This software is very very cool. And while I await the release of the Pre, I have to admit that this software truly adds new life to my Mogul.

I installed it last night as well. It is cool. I am not sure it is any more productive than 2.0, but it sure looks good. I am using this and Kinoma on my Mogul, and it is a stylus free Phone /email/ 8gb Mp3 Player/ TomTom GPS/ mobile Office 2007 with sliding keyboard/ camera/ internet browser /badass. Achilles heel...Internet Explorer. Multi Touch Safari on the iphone has me envious.
I am not digging all of the various screens to flip through, but I do like that I can customize my multiple desktops with widgets and icons. The contacts with re-sizable, re-positionable photo wall is cool.
I mapped my Voice Command button to be the SPB task manager on tap and "Lock" on press and hold. Makes the OS a lot more friendly. I don't know why the task manager and screen lock were not aways external buttons.

All that on a phone that's two years old!
My Mogul is actually a spare phone. Over the years, I have upgraded to the Touch and Touch Diamond. Both had screens die so I always pulled the Mogul out for backup. I am very impressed with how smoothly this runs on such old hardware. There are some slow downs (ironically enough, using the stylus actually makes the transitions and swipes more crisp!) however they are negligible and certainly no worse than TouchFlo 3D on the newer hardware.
I am going to download Opera Mini to see how that plays out, then just map it to the browser button and put a widget on my home screen for it.
Anyhow, well worth the money, especially for older hardware.
And for the record, I have had none of the challenges that others seem to be having on the spb Message Boards. Even the Facebook integration works flawlessly.
