Browser Ball - Time Waster
Browser Ball is an experimental time-waster that lets you spawn new browser windows and throw a beach ball around them. You can set up as many new windows as you want, and the ball will bounce off their edges and cross between overlapping windows, which makes for satisfying free-form play. The most appealing part of Browser Ball isn't the game itself, but the concept of using multiple windows to create a playing surface. Sure, you can blow off steam by bouncing a beach ball around, and it's actually kind of addictive, but this could also be a fun way to create simple environments for browser-based games. Your desktop is the playing field, and that's pretty neat.

Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. I believe this is actually part of the larger Chrome Experiments website, where the newer browsers (Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, not IE) can run these new JS "toys". There's a ton more over at http://www.chromeexperiments.com.

I don't know how many of them work in IE8 but Browser Ball does. I tried it out last week and left a comment on the CE site.
