Windows 7 RC build 7048 leaked on torrent sites

It didn't take long for screenshots to surface of current builds showing some of the new changes in action, and now it appears as though an ISO file of build 7048 has been leaked onto several torrent trackers.
At this point in the Windows 7 news game, it's important to take this information with a grain of salt. Still, previous builds that leaked turned out to be legitimate, so there's every reason to believe that 7048 is the real deal, too.
Caveat emptor - make sure you exercise caution if you decide to track down the torrent and install the build. It's not an official Microsoft release, so you never know for sure what could be lurking inside. You're also likely to have a lengthy wait - the torrents aren't well seeded, and they're likely to see a massive surge in peers.
So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. also beware: when i dled build 7000 off of the torrent sites, the installation became invalid after a month. a prompt came up and said my copy was not legitimate, and then upon rebooting i couldn't start up windows. microsoft is most likely keeping track of who is using what license, and sees that 50,000 people have one particular license.
wait till windows 7 hits the public, then download a corporate licensed copy if you want to use it as your main OS. then again that's illegal so don't do it :)

That's normal behavior with Windows 7 (and Vista). You have to activate it with the product key. The product keys are floating out there. Microsoft only made about 7 keys for the build, so you can reuse a key.
(I downloaded Win 7 build 7000 from Microsoft when they finally opened the downloads to beta testers last month.)
