20 Great Windows downloads for Data Privacy Day 2009!
Today marks the second "celebration" of Data Privacy Day, an event put together by the good folks at Intel and other groups including the EU, the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security.The goal is to increase awareness of privacy practices and rights and create discussion. It only seems appropriate for DownloadSquad to provide some links to applications that have been created with privacy protection in mind.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.

For individual file encryption, as opposed to whole drive encryption offered by True Crypt, I recommend AxCrypt (http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/Default.html). AxCrypt offers AES encryption. Its free and open source. The user interface integrates nicely with windows file explorer, a better solution than Drag'n'Crypt Ultra. AxCrypt has plenty of other options - command line, self decrypting files, keys by key file or pass phrase input.
