Yahoo! updates Real Estate search tool
The company has also expanded the number of realtors it works with to provide more listings. In addition to a list of homes in your price range, neighborhood maps and links to the realtor web page (all of which you can probably find at your local newspaper's web site), Yahoo! offers detailed demographic information about neighborhoods. The new "engine" which sorts the searches doesn't not seem as logical as the prior software.
Example:
I seach for houses in "Tega Cay, SC 29708" what do I get? I get houses for my home town in NJ!
I search for houses using only the postal code for the larg Fort Mill SC postal code " "29708" I get the whole Fort Mill area.
Thus the search engine is unable/unwilling to refine searches. In my case above to the Tega Cay town. Instead I must see everything in the huge Fort Mill area.
Not useful IMHO.
