Barack Obama plans to post weekly YouTube address
The move shouldn't come as a huge surprise. The Obama campaign used new media tools like Twitter, YouTube, and text messaging as a key part of its effort over the past two years. But it's a bit silly to point out that Obama will be the first president to use YouTube in this way, as Obama's transition team is trying to do. The video sharing site didn't exist when President George W. Bush was running for office. So all it really means is that President Bush didn't use YouTube.
While Obama won't be sworn in as president until January, he has started to deliver the weekly Democratic Party radio address, which will also be videotaped and uploaded to YouTube and to Change.gov.

With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

This doesn't sit well with me. How is this fair to the other video sharing sites?

After 8 years of secrecy, collusion, dis-information and outright lies, seems almost too good to be true!
Transparency in government? Elected PUBLIC SERVANTS actually serving the needs of the people? I can ask a question in the comments and someone on the President's staff will read it, take it into consideration?
No way!

You've got to be kidding me, you just HAVE to be kidding.

Bush made these same addresses... this is not transparency. You just choose not to tune in. ...And its not like Obama is posting to the internet himself. Some pimple-faced intern will be doing it. (Oh, and I am not a Republican ...before you reply with anger and hate)

The US needs something similar to PMQs in the UK. Politicians here have to be directly accountable to people - going on shows like Question Time.
QT often has cabinet ministers and other senior politicians. It's great to hear what they think, and to ask them direct questions. David Dimbelby also helps make sure they really DO answer and can't dodge the questions.

Don't forget that 10 Downing Street and even the Queen have YouTube channels. So do most government departments. The PM occasionally answers video questions on YouTube. Most governmental videos pick up less than 1000 views, though!

I say there should be a 24 hour Obama Watch channel. Riveting!

I can see it now, the first parody will be from Jib-Jab with the teleprompter falling over then Obama morphs into a Max Headroom character who stutters (uh...uh...uh), just like the campaign. Doonesbury will have Obama shadowed by a floating teleprompter. Some parodies will have his ears flopping all over like Dumbo. Somehow, I think the parodies/edits will be a lot more fun than the weekly blather.

At last a president who cares about the important issues.
For too long we youtubers have been opressed by corrupt governments
creating an unfair monopoly for radio.
The main reason for my dislike of modern republican presidents
have been their inability to focus on future media.
Now, does anyone know when we get to see the iraqi war in high-def?

We still have to see if he'll be the best president ever, but we already know that he's the awesomest!

But will he be the awesomest in full high-def when he sends all those thousands of troops into Iraq to capture and kill bin laden?
Wait.. Didn't someone do something like that a little while back, and it didn't work out?
I can vaguely remember something about it.. war.. bad? ah, peanut butter jelly.
