Our brand-new hotness
As Steve Jobs would say, "boom." Download Squad readers with keen eyes have taken notice; we've gotten our first full redesign in our history. It's green, it's hot and we luvs it. You can quickly jump to points of interest from the top of the page, we got rid of some nagging limitations of our original design and, just for kicks, we threw the extra $10 for the new logo. Maybe AOL read Adam's "So you wanna be a web developer?" post, ya think?
In all seriousness, big thanks to Erik and Victor who managed to make this all happen. We really hope you love our new design just as much as we do, so tell us what you think!
With Halloween fast approaching, it's a great time to get in some practice defending your territory against zombies. In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet.
They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...

I think you guys did a great job with it! The sidebar is soooo much easier to read!
The only thing I'm not too big on is the funky header with the bars.

Oh, and the link to Erik is broken (missing an "i" in twitter)

Love it, it badly needed updated.
Looks a bit like TUAW's new layout though, the top piece at least with the arrows. Not sure if they were there before, but did you guys get the same people to do it? (With the hot post at the top, and the side bar...)

At first, it caught me by surprise. Now, though, I'm starting to like it.

I was caught off guard, too, but when I realized this was a redesign, I felt excited, so it must be good. :)

Nice Redesign, better navigation in the sidebar.
However the green, well looks odd on a white background for the main post area, could do with a change.
Other than that excellent re-design.

Very nicely done, and serving a lot of information without looking too busy.

haha, I saw the change, and the first thing I did was go the search box and typed: "WAHHHHHH what happened to the layout!!!!!!!" nothing came up.
I thought that was kinda strange, a new design and no mention of it in any posts... so I searched the same term over and over and over again, (so that if someone looks up top searches.....)
I really like the layout on the right side, it is a lot better, I am not sure about the green though....

The new design looks fantastic! One question: has the RSS header tag been removed because of scrapers (I noticed the big "rss terms" section at the bottom of the feed), or just because it was forgotten? :)

Nice, but the article title font sucks - really hard to read serif fonts on screen and it jars with the content font

I like the design, but your new logo looks like a messed up rss icon. Otherwise it is a great makeover.

Very nice.
I have to admit though, the very first thing I did was look around to see who the "sponsor" was that paid to take over for a day...

I like it. Engadget and other Weblogs, Inc. sites should all opt for redesigns as well.

Looks great guys. May want to recheck the "padding-right" on your image in this post though, the text is right on the image, which is a little bit hard to separate visually.

Everything is great!!!
Well, my comment is the 'green' background colour. It would be better if the colour was a little bit dark green colour. So your white main context can be contrasted out. (Maybe I am just being to picky on colours.....)

Superb redesign, I was wondering why DS was not going for a redesign like many other top blogs did recently.
Great work guys.
